EPSON PROJECTOR -TOTAL DISAPPOINTMENT & UNPROFESSIONALISM

I purchased an Epson EB-S05 SVGA projector on 21st October 2019 from Incredible connection N1 City Cape Town, for R5999.00, sent in for repairs on the 18th July. Initially I did not have my slip, they mentioned they could pull it using my bank statement. They pulled the slip for the 20th instead of the 21st, therefore the serial number on slip did not match serial number on projector/box. We received a phone call stating that 'somebody is trying to pull a fast one on the store' that the serial numbers do not match, that comment was demeaning as Incredible connection insinuated that we are lying and acting **********ly.

I personally went into the store, to speak to the manager, I liaised with Malcom, who then double checked and his excuse was that he never checked as somebody else was working on our file. I went as far as bringing in my slip of the laptop i also purchased from their store a week before, to show that I am being honest and this is the projector i bought from their store.

After reprinting the correct slip, he sent the projector for repairs to Epson,

I went in personally to receive feedback , and they mentioned that its still with Epson,

The beginning of September, my husband received a phone call, stating that we will be receiving a new projector. We went into the shop again, and Malcom was not in,

Friday the 11th of September I went into the store to ask if they received the credit and Malcom only phoned that day to find out what the hold up is. If I did not come into the store then I would still be sitting at home with no feedback of progress.

He phoned Epson, and the lady at repairs mentioned that the projector is being fixed and will be delivered the following Monday. He dropped the call. I asked Malcom why Epson decided on fixing the projector instead of crediting the projector and offering me a new one as mentioned. He could not answer. I then asked what the problem was, he said the mother board had an issue. This is a projector thats not even 1 year old? and already has motherboard issues?????

I Demanded that he call Epson back for feedback,

He called, and the next lady refused to be on speaker phone, He could not get any answers as to why it went from us having a CR/new projector - to it being fixed.

He then spoke to his superior, who then stated that Epson had a new employee who stared that we might receive a new projector, and Malcom made a mistake to say that we are receiving a new projector. They could not tell me the name of the person or any other further details, funny enough how did they know that it was a new employee that gave them this false information?

How does a story evolve from a customer receiving a CR to the projector being fixed, and for what purpose?

I kept asking Malcom what is going to happen, as my warranty ends 21st oct 2020, Repair warranty ends Dec, so if anything else breaks I need to repair it?

I stated that I would like my CR ,and my new projector. He then mentioned that that will not happen as this projector is discontinued.

Could it be that Epson realized that they could not replace the projector with a new one? as its discontinued, and have defaulted to repair a defective projector that I might need to fix should it have continuous motherboard issues.

This is totally unprofessional, clearly EPSON/INCREDIBLE CONNECTION is trying to pull a fast one on me :)

Should i further liaise with my lawyers to resolve this?

One entity is definitely being dishonest about this projector...

Is it coincidental that this specific range is being discontinued?and for what reason?

If a customer is promised a new projector, then the store EPSON needs to provide.

Even a gift card for R5999 , where i can purchase a new /more advanced projector would also work.

Can we resolve this without any legal entities?
