Uncompensated by Engen negligence

SA, a multi-billion Rand corporation, has shown shocking disregard and dishonesty toward ordinary, hard working people.

11 months ago, I fuelled up at the Engen garage in Vryheid. Due to their negligence and failure to properly test the petrol supp**** to the station, my vehicle was filled with fuel contaminated by dirty water, a fact confirmed in writing by my mechanic, with full proof submitted to Engen SA.

I was not the only victim. Several vehicles that fuelled up at the same time suffered serious damage because of this contaminated petrol.

For months, I have been trapped in an exhausting back and forth with Engen SA head office and Senior Area Manager, Luzoko Sicam. I submitted every document, receipt, report, and piece of evidence requested multiple times. Engen even has video footage clearly showing my vehicle being fuelled.

Yet, despite clear proof of negligence, Engen SA a multi-billion Rand corporation has refused to compensate me for the damages to my vehicle. Worse still, my case was falsely marked as “resolved” and “paid out,” even though I did not receive a single cent and no one followed up with me.

All I ever wanted was reimbur*****t for the money I was forced to pay out of my own pocket to repair the damage caused by contaminated fuel from an Engen garage in Vryheid. Nothing more. Nothing unreasonable. Just accountability.

To make matters worse, several months ago Senior Area Manager Luzoko Sicam stopped responding entirely to my calls, emails, and messages. This silence only reinforces the lack of responsibility and transparency shown throughout this ordeal.

**My Rights Under South African Consumer Law:**

***Consumer Protection Act (CPA) Section 55 – Right to Safe, Good Quality Goods:** Consumers have the right to receive goods that are safe, in good working order, and free of defects. Contaminated fuel clearly violates this right.

***CPA Section 56 – Imp**** Warranty of Quality: If goods fail to meet the required standard, the supplier must repair, replace, or refund the consumer.

***CPA Section 61 – Liability for Damages: A supplier can be held legally liable for any loss or damage caused by unsafe or defective goods, including damage to property such as a motor vehicle. I remain fully within my legal rights to demand compensation for the damages caused by Engen’s negligence.
