Faulty speedpoint systems

After putting petrol in my car on Friday morning Egnen's speedpoints stopped working at the end of the transaction with my eBucks card and the slip didn't print. After waiting 30 minutes their system went back online. When trying to swipe my card again the speedpoint denied it as the card had been used too recently (according to the printed slip). I then checked on my online transactions and saw that the money (eBucks) had been reserved for purchase. The attendants assured me the transaction would be reversed and I needed to swipe again. I said that I would swipe again once the transaction had actually been reversed. After 40 minutes I left after leaving my details with the garage. I returned on Saturday to show that the transaction was still pending, and to say I would pay once the transaction was reversed. On Sunday the transaction eventually went through. So I had paid for the petrol the first time. I am however still be called (numerous times) by an understandably nervous petrol attendant as he claims Engen has no proof of the processed transaction and it will be deducted from his wages. When trying to phone the phone the branch ad Engen head office no one picks up the phone.
