ENGEN PALM VALLEY ROODEPOORT COMPLAINT

On Thursday 30 January 2020 I filled up my Mercedes Vito bus at the Engen Garage in Cascades Road.

I drove back to Rustenburg(my home town) the same day, approximately 100km.

The following day I was driving and the bus completely lost power and would not want to switch on again. We arranged a low – bed truck and they transported my vehicle to the closest Mercedes garage in Rustenburg.

The Mercedes Vito bus was there for fault finding and testing and they informed us on the 3rd of February that it seems that there is not Diesel in the bus, something else or petrol, but they will test the vehicle and guess what they found - PARAFFIN!

I did try to contact Engen , but the number listed does not exist – ***. Eventually I got hold of the manager Vukani. I did phone him and explained to him what happened . He requested a copy of my slip and provided him with same and my vehicle registration number. I did provide him with same, and requested feedback on this even date, but no feedback from his side or from ENGEN SOUTH AFRICA.

This is dangerous and unacceptable and I expect them to carry the costs and / or loss we incurred . We need to prevent that this will happen to anyone again and we want an investigation. They did not put Diesel in my vehicle or some other substance with a paraffin smell .

I indicated that the Mercedes garage will have the product available that they had to tap from my diesel tank for testing, but several months later still nothing has happened. No feedback at all, no apology nothing!
