ENGEN LONGMEADOW DE*****ING PEOPLE
If I could give the service 0, I would. I also intend on making this blow-up on Twitter too just by the way. Last night, or rather this morning at around 12:30am my sister and I went to ENGEN LONGMEADOW where we were "helped" by a guy named COLLIN. When we arrived, I politely told Collin to put R 200 in my Hyundai i20 and pump my front tyre, right after that, we proceeded to ask him if we could use the bathroom... That was our biggest mistake. We headed to the bathroom and thought that he'd stay behind putting petrol in the car as per our request, but we were wrong. We returned and my sister gave him her bank card to swipe the R 200 which he did, but funny enough he told us that the card is declining. We thought it was strange because the card definitely had money and it couldn't have been the limit because it was 12:30, and she hadn't swiped anything prior, but we didn't make it a big deal because I had my card so we figured we'd just use that one. We then started the car and drove off, but then two minutes after we left, we realised that Nooooo man, the petrol gage hadn't gone up and it was still flashing and on reserve. Mind you that R 200 in an i20 takes it up 4 bars, which goes a long way. We returned to the garage and queried it. As we entered, the petrol attendants started murmuring under their breaths and looking VERY nervous. They knew EXACTLY why we were back. We got there and asked why he would do something like that simply because he thought we went to the bathroom so he thought he could trick us into paying for petrol we didn't even have. He denied it, as expected, so we asked to speak to his manager - a very useless human being who was clearly in on the entire ****. He got there and told us that digital petrol gages usually do this. We told him he must think we're dumb if thinks we'll believe that. I've been driving this car for three whole years, and not once during those years had something like that ever happened. We then asked that he gets the owner of the garage to either come here or get him on the phone. During that ordeal, something came over me and I decided to take a look at the readings on the rest of the pumps and all three pumps had the exact same reading - R 200, 8,07 litres. There was just no way that three pumps next to each other would have the EXACT same reading at EXACTLY the same time. The very useless manager got his boss on the phone and that entire conversation was a waste of my time. He was incredibly intoxicated and slurring his words. He kept repeating the same thing and trying to convince me that his employees aren't ****ming us and that his pumps weren't faulty. That useless but long conversation started to get annoying so I gave the phone back to its useless owner to speak to a more useless human being than himself. He went on to LIE and say that the pumps don't have the same readings, I have a video that proves otherwise. We then said we were going nowhere and they were either gonna give us our money back or we'd camp here and wait for the cops as what they were doing was ********. So of course, after about 30 to 40 minutes of going back and forth, they put the R 200 petrol in our car, and immediately the gage went up. The weird thing is that this guy kept insisting that we were drunk and this could be because of the time we got there and the fact that we needed the bathroom. So clearly they do this to drunk customers during the weekend as a side hustle and they don't notice because they're intoxicated. Unfortunately for them, we weren't those drunk customers. Fast forward to us getting home - my sister gets home and checks her phone and there's a notification that the R 200 was taken from her account, the same account from the same card that had apparently "declined". The funds were later reversed because they knew that we would've driven back to the garage and gave them hell again for that. So clearly the petrol attendants at ENGEN LONGMEADOW de***** innocent people all weekend under the guise that people are intoxicated. This is disgusting and Engen as a company, as a brand, should look into this. We're very dissatisfied with the service we received and we'll be spreading the word about this, best believe that.
