Engen Employee Dictates My Purchase

On Tuesday 3rd May, I tried purchasing #Vodacom airtime. I told the lady who was helping me that I needed a minimum of R150 airtime. A cashier called Godfrey was telling her from the sidelines that I cannot buy R150, I have to buy a R110 and a R29. The more I wanted to converse with the lady helping me, the more he would interrupt. I was trying to determine voucher options that would get me to the minimum R150 that I needed with the lady helping me and he would just interrupt saying that I can't purchase blah blah and making me feel like I had no say in the matter. It felt like this guy was dictating to me what I should be buying, like I had no rights whatsoever, like I had no freedom of choice, like I owed him something. He wouldn't allow me to complete my transaction with the lady after I asked him many times to please keep quiet and mind his own business and I eventually lost my cool with him became more aggressive with him because I simply didn't have time for his nonsense. Even customers were not impressed with this guy telling me what to do and insisted that I speak to the manager. Godfrey on 3 occasions told me that I have a problem and he was screaming this in front of everyone in an attempt to humiliate me. A lady from the back office came to the front and told me that there wasn't a manager in the shop however she will take my details and someone will call me. She asked what happened and I told her that as a customer I have the right to choose what product to purchase and no one can dictate to me what to purchase nor can they treat me this way. I then made her aware of how much pleasure he was getting from my discomfort because he had this smug grin on his face like he's so proud of himself and achieved something epic. He's so arrogant he is doing this in front of her and everyone else in the shop. How disgusting!! I also told her how unfortunately nothing will happen to this guy because he gets to keep his job and treat other customers this way. Days later I have yet to receive a call from this management team - even more disgusting. From now on I'll endeavor to support Engen's competitors. Treating a customer this way is simply unacceptable.
