ENGEN - click on pump not working - petrol spewing!

ENGEN MIDRAND OLYMPIC – (I have videos of everything that happened)

On my birthday (14th Oct 2021), I was on my way home (to RandPark Ridge) from Midrand and had to put petrol in my bakkie first, so I stopped at the first petrol station on my way, which in this case was ENGEN.

I told the man attending to my bakkie, to also check my water & oil. Which he did. By the time he went to get some water to refill, I heard something like a waterfall coming from just outside my bakkie. I stuck my head out the window looking for where the sound was coming from, when I saw that it was the petrol pump spewing petrol out of my petrol tank, like a waterfall!

I shouted at the man asking what was going on?! There was so much petrol on the ground beneath my bakkie. He kept on apologizing and offered to pay. I told him to pay R300 because it’s impossible for this bakkie (Nissan NP200) to have filled for the amount of R984.00 and to even think that the amount of petrol on the ground was just a mere R300…is impossible.

Earlier that day, I took my whole family out for late lunch, seeing as it was my birthday, so I’ve already spent so much money for the day (month) and then having to pay a petrol bill of R984.00 on top of that?! I’ve made several attempts to ask the guys at the petrol station for the managers/owners details, but they seem to ignore me. I’ve even tried to call and was told that they are not allowed to give me any information.

This is inhumane to the man that helped me, because it was NOT his fault! The click did NOT work on the pump and this guy had to pay for it! I want that man reimbursed every cent and compensated for the trauma he had to go through and I need to be refunded every cent that I paid that day…seeing as no actual amount can be determined that was filled into my bakkie! (You can be lucky that I’m not pressing charges or wanting to open a case for the trauma I had to endure on the day of my birthday standing at a petrol station in the middle of nowhere, female alone in the middle of the night!)

Now, if all the above said does not happen within one week from today (by 26th Oct 2021), I will make it know what ENGEN does to rip customers off.
