Engen Bloemfontein south 1
On Saturday 9th October 2021 at approx 13h30 having travelled in our Hyundai Tuscan all the way from Mozambique with absolutely no problems, had our car serviced in Johannesburg and happily set off on our way to the Eastern Cape. At the Engen Bloemfontein South 1 service station my husband asked the attendant to fill our car up with petrol and he then got out of the car but did not notice that he was putting diesel in! We left the garage and drove 1.4kms down the road and our car made the most terrible noise and cut out. We called the garage and they sent the manager out plus a mechanic and had to flatbed out car away for repairs. The garages booked us into a guest house which was pretty dire and the next morning brought our car back to us and immediately told us that the gearbox oil was low and was a problem. We went straight to garage and our oil was perfect but our gearbox was stuck in 3rd gear. We called the the manager of the service station and he then got the owner to phone us. The owner refused any assistance to us and told us if we needed help to go onto the Engen website and see which service station would help us. We eventually managed to get the gearbox to reset itself and we drove down to the Eastern Cape nursing the car all the way. We had the garage down there look at the car and told us a sensor was damaged and reset it on the diagnostic machine. We had to nurse the car all the way back to Johannesburg and then took the car to the mechanic who always services our car and he found that 3 sensors plus some wires were damaged which cost us an additional R2 900 to repair. If you live your car do not stop at this Engen garage - it could become very costly.
