Damage to vehicle unwilling to pay
Mail sent to Engen HQ

I was at one of your franchise filling (Corner of Visagie and Charlotte Maxeke road in Pretoria) stations yesterday (21 October 2015 around 08H00) to put fuel in my vehicle.

I requested fuel and as the attendant was putting the fuel in the tank I went to draw cash for the purchase. Upon my return from the shop I found the attendant cleaning my windows and glanced at pump meter once I was in my vehicle to ensure correct amount dispensed.

I proceeded to pay the attendant and he put the wipers down post cleaning my window. He thanked me and walked off. My wife witnessed this. I started my vehicle and proceeded to leave.

About 2 meters away from the pump we heard a load noise and I stopped immediately only to realize that the attendant did not remove the nossle from my vehicle. The sound we heard was the nossle snapping off and damaging my vehicle in the process. The attendant ran over and apologized saying that he forgot to remove the nossle.

Now the owner says they will not pay for damages as I just drove off and this was clearly not the case and was caused by attendant negligence.
