Is enca promoting tabocco use and dependence by minimising risk

It is disturbing that Enca chooses to cover a story of research that appears to show that smoking does not affect covid risk, without indicating who is funding the research.

Brtish american tobacco has an extensive media reach and are known to prey on vulnerable countries and communities to push their market. That market now also constitutes children as young as 5 years in our poorest communities. Why is Enca not balancing their coverage by covering this. I work with hundreds of primary schoolers and high schoolers who role model from adults and start smoking because they do not understand the harm of the substance. When the smoking ban was announced, it was a relief to know that children will now have less exposure to smoking.

Some of my child clients are trying their best to stop smoking. We should be making every effort to help them, not tell them that its ok.

Enca will probably become a channel driven by corporate interests if this sloppy, tabloid-type myopic reporting continues that keeps the public in the dark, promotes harm and addiction.
