Empire Debt Management (Pty)Ltd
Based on recent customer reviews, Empire Debt Management (Pty)Ltd is facing serious dissatisfaction from consumers who feel misled about debt review removal services. A recurring theme is unfulfilled promises to clear debt review status within 90 days, followed by silence once payment is made. Customers consistently mention unauthorized debits, difficulty securing refunds, and rude or unresponsive agents. Several reviewers raise concerns about unsolicited calls to individuals already under debt review, alleging questionable data sourcing. The overall tone reflects frustration, distrust, and a perception that the service does not deliver what was sold.

When Empire debt management calls you, they promise that your debt review flag will be removed within 90 days. it's been 9 Months since the process started, no feedback, when you call them, they are very rude and cannot even answer you. it's always the same answer, your stuff is with the lawyers. Do not fall for it, get people who can actually do the work and can provide proper communication.

I was recently contacted by Empire Debt Management and offered a “debt review removal” service for R7,500. The agent claimed they received my details from the NCR, which already raised concerns. I explained clearly that I already have a court order confirming my withdrawal from debt review. Under NCR Circular 9, the process has changed — only the original debt counsellor of record can update your status on the NCR system. No third-party company can override this. Despite this, I was still told they could assist and was given vague assurances instead of a clear, lawful explanation of how they would achieve this. When I questioned this further and pushed for clarity, the call was abruptly ended on me. This is extremely unprofessional and concerning behaviour. Consumers need to be aware: - If you already have a court order, the only remaining step is updating your NCR status. - This can ONLY be done by your original debt counsellor. - Be cautious of companies charging large fees for services they cannot legally complete. I strongly advise others to do proper research before paying for these types of services. My experience was misleading, unprofessional, and handled very poorly.
