Unfair practice and poor service delivery

Contemplating on moving to Springs, think twice! Dealing with the municipality is a nightmare. Had tenants who absconded after 2 years of non payment. Ekhuruleni metro allowed the bill to run up to R20000. When I became aware and questioned why the continued supply there response was- strictly speeking they should be disconnected, but not to worry the tenant will be held liable. Subsequently, with new tenants and 15 months later, the municipalitytially disconnects and refuses to reconnect until I pay R42000, outstanding from the previous tenant. Mokete Masekela(manager) despite acknowledging a measure of negligence on the part of the council and the suggestion of “conscription write off” – all lip service they’ll do nothing. Correction, the some total of taking responsibility on their part is the same as that adopted by certain top members in governament “ I Apologise”. Also, don’t bother dealing with the regional manager (Jannie Wegener) who justifies their irresponsibility, by presenting 6 disconnection stubs(most of which pertained to a period long before the matter at hand), in defense of having done their job, never mind allowing the R20000 bill to further escalate to more than double. People, this is the status quo – the loyal payer will be done in – the perpetrator will be allowed free and those who have the power to do anything will wash their hands off the situation.
