Shocking!
I parked my vehicle in front of Ackermans Pharmacy this morning where I got my Pfizer booster. When returned to the vehicle there was a fine of R500 on my windscreen!
The traffic officer was nowhere to be seen...
I live in Kensington and whenever I drive Roberts Avenue (main road) there are drivers who continually disrespect the rules of the road and drive through red traffic lights. No traffic officer ever stops them. This is a daily occurrance. Also on Queen Street (opposite Shell garage) there are always cars who double park and block the traffic. There has never been a traffic officer there to prevent this traffic congestion, an area of major on-going vehicle accidents.
People who go to Ackermans Pharmacy obviously go there for medication and/ or treatment. These are people in need. To think that a traffic officer has no respect for people needing medical attention and goes ahead and issues such a steep fine is sickening!
It so happens that the fine was for an "unlicensed motor vehicle" but the licence disk was actually on the floor. The car stays outdoors and the glue on the licence disk must have melted... I do have a VALID licence but just the thought that a traffic officer goes out of his/ her way to fine people who are at a pharmacy... there are so many cases needing a traffic officer's attention and yet...
