ROTTEN, STINKING SERVICE

My electricity has been disconnected because Ekurhuleni cannot replace a faulty water meter and the fact that the head engineer, Rephilwe, did not send a report to the billing department and she is now not at work. I spoke with a lady by the name of Pienkie in credit control who gave me the run around and eventually one of her colleagues told me that I must pay 50% of the bill, which is incidentally not what I owe them, and then they will re-connect me. Since June I have been waiting for a meter and have been told:
1) The plumbers are on strike
2) They do not have meters
3) There is a backlog in the department
4) There are no contractors to replace the meters as Ekurhuleni has not renewed the contract with the contractors.

In the interim I am without electricity because they cannot do their job. I am now going to get Carte Blanche to investigate and establish the reason as to why a faulty water meter cannot be replaced. I must add that I have been making payments on the water bill, not the R 3000.00, R 4000.00 or R 5000.00 which they state.
