*****ULANT PAYMENT ARRANGEMENT EKURHULENI MUNICIPALITY account *** 4 WILSON STREET HAZELDENE GERMISTON

<p>The Ekurhuleni Municipality for the Germiston area - have accepted a *****ulant payment arrangement /acknowledgement of debt made on my behalf by a tenant renting my property.</p> <p>The tenant undertook to register the Water and Sewerage account in his Business Name , as he operates a little factory at the premises , on the 01 January 2016.</p> <p>The Factory employes roughly 8 machine operators and 3 general workers, all who have to make use of water and sanitation.</p> <p>The Account was never registered on the tenants name - as well as lawfull usage paid by the tenant , from December 2015 up until June 2016 when I printed the statement and saw a balance in arrears of R7149.54 .</p> <p>I contacted the tenant , who promised to correct the situation, but instead he signed an acknowledgement of debt or payment arrangement on my behalf.</p> <p>I gave him no such authority- as I did not incure the debt, I vacated the property in November 2015 , when the tenant moved in and stated operating his factory.</p> <p>The payment arrangement or acknowledgement of debt was undertaken as a pensioner,however the tenant operates a factory on the premises as well, so he enjoys the benefit of tarriffs on water and electricity on residential rates -not business rates.</p> <p>I am not sure if this is entirely legal.</p>
