Ekurhuleni Municipality *****ing deposits

We sold our home and had to pay an expected deposit for rates and taxes in October. Registration went through on 3 November and now it's been 10 months to try get our refund out of the Ekurhuleni Municipality.

They do not acknowledge the countless correspondence or any response whatsoever. So apparently it's ok to insist the deposit is paid within 48 hours but they can take more than 10 months and counting to repay it. Why should we be going to these extents to get money that is owed to us repaid?

Keeping money that does not belong to you is theft!
