Ekurhuleni Municipality has No Peace at All

I am so disappointed in my municipality and their competence. You get a slap in the face for being a law abiding citizen while others benefit freely from this municipality.

Load shedding happened on Friday the 13th of December 2019, and while other houses in my neighborhood received their lights back after the planned 3 hours my house did not. I call the Call centre and they sms me a ref number saying that the technicians will attend to the matter within 48 hours which they didn't. I didn't have electricity for more than 100 hours and they have no valid reason as to why this is at all, they don't know and absolutely don't care at all.

On Tuesday 17 December 2019 I went to the energy department to physically report my problem and they informed me that the reference number I received from the call centre states that the power outage is for the whole area and not my house specifically and had to receive a new reference number, why do we need this call centre if they cant assist properly?

The matter was reported around 09H30 with the energy department and the technicians cam out same day at around 14H30 and asked me to go to the Municipality as I have been cut off. When I arrived at the Springs CCC there was no valid reason given to me by the credit control personnel as to why I was cut off given that a week prior I was block for late payment when I only received my statement on the 11th of December and I paid the next day as I did not receive my November statement by email and only received it via post on the 11th of December and on the letter it stated that my bill had to be paid by the 4th of December which is why I paid it as soon as I received the letter.

So communication faults from the municipality and lack of efficiency has resulted me with not having electricity for more than 100 hours, spoiled grocery as the fridge defrosted and a smelly house due to the rotting of my groceries in the fridge. I have never missed payment for my rates and taxes, I try by all means to give my municipality the benefit of the doubt but this time you have showed me how less you care about a partnership that works between the city and the residents and that you are only here to collect money and give no assistance at all.
