Ekurhuleni Municipality just took it upon themselves and decided we needed to pay R2mil more on our house in Esther Park. In June we get our normal bill with the normal rates and taxes fee. This month for July they added an additional R2mil rate to the value of our house pushing our rates and taxes up to 3 times the amount. Who gave them the right to do this? How do they get to that figure? When did they come and do an evaluation of my house? For them to just decide that we need to pay R2mill more for our house. I am appalled at this country and the the way people are treated. I actually have no words, I am truly shocked.
