Complaint about Ekurhuleni Municipality
Ekurhuleni municipality complaint
After going and speaking to all pillars and the post, I am getting more than a little fed up with being treated like a ********. What is going on there? I have been in to the Municipality no less than 6 times .. Spoken to Mr Buys, Mr Reyneke, another lady in credit control and even Mr Engelbrecht in City Power. All are unwilling to help. I have explained over and over that I have been using solar for the power in my house. I have explained that I would like to make a payment arrangement to get power back because the solar is not enough to carry everything. Can't run a fridge. And my Mom in law uses a machine at night for her sleep apnea. She has moved in with us from Secunda to help. Sold her car to help us pay off our arrears. Nobody listens to our case. Just false accusations about my prepaid meter being bypassed. Falsely accusing me (a woman who has schizophrenia and been living on and off in Secunda until I became stable enough) been subjected to ******ion by Mr Buys. In the past I had an affidavit stating the same and that we had a handyman living in the back room tending to the garden and using gas .. Ekurhuleni accuses us of using electricity somehow and they added. R 15000 to my bill in 2017 saying it was backdated from 2013 to 2016 based on the water consumption and previous average power usage. How could they do that??
Over the last 2 weeks my Mom in law and I have been trying to pay the down payment to get things in swing here. We get told that the staff rotate because of Covid. Mr Reyneke asked for a letter to extend the repayment term, as I can only afford R800 per month plus the current bill, plus prepaid units..and when we came to drop it off by him (which he said he would forward to Mrs Madonsela for approval) he wasn't in. The lady in credit control advised us she doesn't have access to any work that is on the system that Mr Reyneke has done. I find that hard to believe. She turned us away. Then when we saw him on Monday again he said he was waiting for an inspector to come to our house first. Well, guess what? I saw an inspector sitting in his Ekurhuleni bakkie today fast asleep outside Debonaire's in Selcourt!
