Worst spa experience I’ve had

Worst experience I’ve had at a spa.

Where do I begin ? I got there and they had taken my booking down on the wrong day. I said it was no issue and we can come back another time but they insisted we stayed and they would do my package.

I booked for a 2 hour group session for a friend and I consisting of a choice of 2 massages, a facial, foot soak and scrub and a mini manicure ( just clean up, shape and paint).

After waiting for a room to be ready, we got undressed and waited for our masseuses to come in. This is where things started going wrong.

They didn’t give us a choice for our massages. They had an event going on right outside our window and ladies were screaming and laughing, my friend and I couldn’t relax, we asked if they could please keep it down and after about half an hour they did.

While lying on the table, the “relaxing” music was blasted on the speakers, crackling and switching on and off the whole time we were there.

Might I mention the masseuse was chewing a toothpick the whole time, absolutely disgusted. Professionalism? None existent.

When it was time to turn over they kept the lights on bright and didn’t put anything over our eyes. I asked for the lights to be turned off as they were directly over my head. They switched them off until it was time to do our facial.

They didn’t know what products they were using or putting on our faces when we asked. There was a bit of sass coming from the ladies because we were asking questions about our treatment.

It was time to do our foot soak and while those were happening they offered to do our nails. I asked if I could do my toes instead and they were baffled even though we could have a choice. They didn’t do them. I then changed from the simple nail paint and shape to a manicure for my friend and I which was R100 each. The only difference was they massaged our hands.

The ladies took about an hour to do our nails and they were shocking. Completely over filed our nails and when they painted mine, very badly, she asked how beautiful they were (images attached taken directly after we got home).

Finally 3 hours later, an hour over expected time, it was over. I felt traumatised. They promise ladies that are “professionally trained” and they definitely weren’t. Worst experience I have ever had. I felt embarrassed that I brought my friend along.

When going to pay they asked me about my experience and I told them everything, that I wasn’t happy with what I got. They still charged me the full amount. That was the worst experience of my life and they didn’t bother to do anything about it.
