Questionable Exam Results every Block.

My concern is regarding the Exam results that are published by Eduvos after the students write exams. At the end of Block 1 this year after the supplementary exams, the results were delayed in being published by approximately 2 weeks from the expected date that was given by Eduvos. Students, later on, received an email from Roseline Makirimani which read ¨Dear Student We have identified that there has been a system error (not a human error) on SCIMA2-B11 calculations that may have been affected. We are working on this and will be working over the weekend so that the marks can be rectified by Monday the 30th. We apologise for the inconvenience caused¨. How do we even trust that the marks they later received were accurate? When the students wrote the supplementary exam for this module, the exam venue was full, meaning that most of the students had actually failed it. So to receive an email saying system error on the calculation of marks makes one wonder if all those students even failed the exam in the first place. Maybe it was also an error in the calculation of marks for the majority of the students to fail. The results of the supplementary exams were released and again most students failed it and now it is a repeat. It makes me wonder as a sponsor if this is not a money-making scheme on the part of Eduvous because if a student has to repeat the module they now have to pay R10 000 for that module on top of what they are already paying for that block. I also wonder why so many students fail these Biomedicine/ Biotech modules. What systems does Eduvous have with regards to quality checks? Are the lecturers, and professors doing right by the students? What are the factors that are affecting the results of students negatively? We are talking about students who attend lectures and do their work. Who holds the lecturers accountable? Are there any reflection sessions at end of a course/ module to evaluate what went well and what needs to change? When students give feedback to lecturers in surveys at the end of modules, is anyone really taking the time to read and address the concerns raised by students? When one student asked for a script review the response was we don't have the script? Aren't these procedures supposed to the transparent? Again end of Block 2 a lot of students failed module SCMOA2-B22. Students came to write the supplementary exam, results came out and again students failed. Students went to campus with many queries to the exam office and were told verbally by Constance that there is an investigation going on with regards to the results of the supplementary exam module SCMOA2-B22 and students should expect a change in results. This time it's hush-hush no formal communication (a clever move to keep it under wraps) only the students who query the results are told verbally of the investigation. Why not formalise it? How do we even trust that these results are accurate? What is really going on? Again these are now repeated modules more money coming into Eduvos. When the students opened for Block 3, some students were aware of a special exam for module SCIMA2-B11 (the one that the students failed in block 1). A special show that even Eduvos by the failure rate for that module. Some students were not even aware of this special exam. Were emails sent to all the students concerned? Eduvos need to communicate effectively and timely at all times.
