Poor service delivery for exorbitant tuition fees
My twin sons registered with the institution in 2020, completed one qualification, and progressed to another. I sent my sons who are from another part of the African continent only to be told that foreign students require an instant 30% upfront payment and will not be enrolled. This was never communicated to us in the previous year. Nowhere in the contract that we received and signed was the upfront payment mentioned. I am highly disgusted by the way the institution handled the matter let alone the disgrace that the students had to go through and their subsequent delayed registration. I feel that there is ************** against foreign students by the institution. To compound the frustration there are no clear channels of communication for sponsors starting from the student advisors to the finance team and especially by the heartless Gauteng regional debt controller guy who arrogantly dismisses sponsors without even giving them a platform for conversation. Are foreigners not people? Are they not entitled to the same treatment as SA citizens? Why is this 30% upfront not charged to SA citizens????? Yes, we struggle like everyone else who has received an economic backlash. After paying the exorbitant fees still, the service that we receive is substandard. We have to constantly follow up for a mere monthly statement before one starts receiving threatening emails and phone calls from the finance. The student advisors take our children from pillar to post when they have academic queries. Our children are actually afraid to even consult some of them. Aren't they supposed to be the first point of contact at the institution? They specialize in ignoring emails and messages from us and our children. I am a very FRUSTRATED parent.
