EXORBITANTLY EXPENSIVE, UNORGANISED PRIVATE EDUCATION

If I had an option of giving minus stars I would.

I chose EDUVOS (Who was Pearson Institute of Higher education at the time) to complete my BCOM Accounting Degree part time. I did plenty of research before I started, as I wanted an institution that is professional with good quality education. I did not want to go through UNISA, as I heard many reviews about their admin being slow.

Pearson(at the time) being a private institute, boasted professionalism and care for students, tailor made part-time package, sounded perfect. I then opted to pay considerably more that I would with another institution for this reason.

During year one, we had some challenges here and there with some lecturers etc. and the organizational skills of the institution, but nothing too major. The demand on time for students were significant. One module at a time must be completed within 6 weeks. So, you take up something completely new to you, and within six weeks you write an exam on it. Not like other institutions where you have a few modules for a semester, giving yo umore time to grasp.

So, within the six weeks you must do assignments, lecturer's assessments as well as attend classes and self learning all whilst learning (and parenting for those who are parents.

I decided to stick it through as I already paid upfront for the year and am committed.

When level two came along, the school was bought over by EDUVOS, and suddenly, fees nearly doubled and we were expected to do TWO modules at a time in the same space of time (part time). This meant, we paid from 37k to R63k for the level. R63k for upfront and more if you choose monthly installments.

I was charged R63k and another student was charged R42k. After fighting for an entire year, I was given a "discount" and paid R55k. At the beginning of this year, I learned that this was not for the entire level 2. It was only for the year and that I still had a balance of R24k to pay for level 2.

Then, I made enquiries to pay the level 3 upfront. Another student in my class, studying with me, was quoted R31.8k. I was quoted R41.6k.

I disputed this and demanded a review.

Suddenly communication of incorrect quotes went out. Today, after following up three times, I am given a revised quotation of R63k opposed to R41.6k which I disputed in the first place.

Several students has dropped out due to this. The quality of Education had gone done, you have to buy textbooks for two modules at a time and do assignments. assessments, classes for two at a time and write exams in the same week after 6 weeks of being introduced to the subject.

Lecturers get the dats of assessments and exams wrong - you get exam scopes a week or so before exams if you're lucky and followed up enough.

The finance department knows nothing regarding your bills and each time you ask for a quote it is different.

I want answers! I was blindsided and ****** in level 2 and it is happening again! Students who threaten the most get special treatment and lower bills.

Do not use this institution if you want structure and transparency !
