Highly Disappointed for being Mislead and Not Compensated

I am beyond disappointed by this company as I had put so much of my time, money and faith in them yet they have failed me in more ways then one. I was employed by EC3 as a Key Accounts Manager for approximately 3weeks of which only 3 days was training and the rest of the period I was on the floor working. I was firstly mislead into believing I was being appointed into a customer centric role only to find that I would be doing sales work and only after selling their product would I then be regarded as a Key account manager for that particular business that I obtain. I had only signed a training contract but had been advised verbally that I had passed training. Due to unforeseen circumstances I lost a family member and communicated with my manager that I would need time off only to find that I was dismissed due to absenteeism which was understandable based on my tenure in the company. My biggest disappointment is the company not compensating me for the weeks I had worked even though I had spent so much of my time and money travelling to the company and giving off my best on a daily. This company has disappointed me and proves to be nothing but a **** that does not have any people skills or any form of appreciation or empathy especially because they failed to at least use their discretion as they are fully aware of my capabilities to say the least. I need them to compensate me as I've spent over R1000 travelling to them and back and also dedicated so much of my time and energy. Where is the human factor in this business? I am so disappointed in how you treat your employees.

Hi... After a deep investigation some factual differences have come to light. Considering these allegations are deeply false at many levels we feel your offense at feeling your justified being paid after only being at work for a week is totally unreasonable.
To be reminded, here is the sequence of events.:

  • Your statement about being misled with regards the role is absolutely untrue, as the Campaign Manager sat in on your interview and the role was explained thoroughly.
  • During the training regimen it was clearly outlined what the role of a Key Accounts Manager would entail
  • You messaged the CM on the 7th of November (after only attending work for 7 days) stating your uncle has passed away and you were unable to come to work as you were attending to the funeral arrangements. In addition you stated that you would be back at work on the 9th of November .
  • On the Wednesday the 9th you messaged the CM again stating that you is busy with the funeral arrangements and could not attend work and will be back on Monday the 14th of November.
  • You did not arrive to work on the 14th of November
  • The CM messaged you on the 15th asking when you will be returning to work.- your  response is that she is not in a "good space"
  • The CM asked when he could expect you back and you stated you will communicate in the course of the week.
  • There was no communication that week and he had to follow up with you that Monday (21 November) for an update where your response was that you needed to attend your sons graduation on Wednesday the 23rd of November and will there after return to work.
  • You did not pitch at work once again on Wednesday the 23rd  and at 8:42 he sent you the following message: "Good morning Phindile, I trust you are well, Please note that your training contract has been terminated due to high level of absenteeism, as per your training contract signed at the start of training you were required to have 100% attendance. You are more than welcome to reapply next year. If you require a formal letter, I can email this to you, All the best for your future endeavors"
 Overview:
If you wish to bad mouth a company, please get your facts straight.

Good luck in your future employ.

Hi there,

Firstly I was definitely not at the company for only a week as I started a week before October came to an end.
Secondly, I would like your description of what exactly a Key Accounts Managers job description would entail and having been in a similar role I can confirm that it definitely isn't sitting dialling leads and selling products to various clients.
I've had a look at your reviews on the business and have noticed a trend of not taking full ownership or accountability but a trend of rather being defensive and justifying all of your actions which is why I feel you have no human element in your manner of approach.
In any case this is definitely a huge learning curve because companies like yours deserve nothing but to rather shut down because you continue to exploit people in many ways and feel it's right.
I wish you guys the best of luck too I guess that's why your head count decreases daily and your recruitment continues daily because you fail to be truthful and accommodating in a transparent manner to individuals instead you take advantage of the fact that people need work in South Africa.
You guys are a purely sales driven environment hence you should not advertise any customer centred positions as that is without a doubt very misleading.

Good-bye.
