If someone were to tell us to get a professional to do a thorough inspection before signing the OTP, we would have done so?

First time buyers, be careful. Do not sign any OTP with them unless you're 100% sure that the electrical and plumbing in the house is 100%. Make sure that there's no leaks, ask to bring a professional to your viewings.

3 months in our first home and we're still sitting with major issues. Leaking taps that we have a 6month guarantee on, that's not being fixed. We were reffered to CoCT but it's inside the house and we were advised to get the plumbers who worked here. We've sent feedback, it's back and front between the agent and seller and ourselves with absolutely no solution for the problems we're sitting with.

With heavy rain now every week our roof leaks at 4 places. We've sent photos with the first rainfall of how bad it is. Water dripping through the pendant lights. Water causing damage to our newly built in cabinets and yet this is now seen as our problem. We bought this house in the heart of winter. Now it's said that there's never been any leaks. But people were renting this house for years and clearly had these issues. The guy who came to fix the roof is someone who cleans the yards in our area. He came here with R200 paint to do the job but we're still sitting with the problem.

The agent himself, Enwill , is helpful in his own way. However we still haven't received the assistance on issues we have reported 3 months ago. So what do we do with leaks in the house that we have a 6month guarantee for? What about the electrical issues that we have a 1 year guarantee on? This is not an issue to be sorted by City of Cape Town or Eskom and they're well aware of it. Why give buyers certificates which means nothing to do them? There's absolutely no support for buyers.

From moving in into a filthy house we've had and still have many unpleasant issues with this real estate agency. Please be very careful when buying a property is foreign to you and you cannot afford to lose a single penny.
