First time home buyer comes second and seller first to make sale and commision
As first time home buyers, we though Eazi would make all best decisions for us on our behalf. After purchasing a 2mil house, we realized the roof is leaking badly. The purchase agreement has the words "as is" and "voetstoots" meaning the seller has no obligation to fix it. This is a hard lesson learned. Would suggest everyone take the contract to a lawyer to add things like "the seller is responsible for the roof for 6 months" or something like that. I will unfortunatly not use Eazi ever again after this mishap.

We understand that you are feeling frustrated and that it must have been very disappointing moving into your new home to discover aspects that you were unhappy with.
We would like to reassure you that we request that all sellers disclose any defects related to the property, which are then listed on our conditions report. Any relevant declarations are also listed. Unfortunately, we can only disclose what the sellers bring to our attention. Please know that both Eazi and our agents will never withhold information regarding defects they have knowledge of.
We are dedicated to providing high-quality service to both our buyers and sellers. As you rightly mentioned, the voetstoots clause was applicable for the purchase of your new home, and, as a result, any issues that are discovered post-occupation need to be managed through the compliance company and transferring attorney as per the parameters within the offer to purchase contract. Warranties are not given by sellers that are not selling homes as part of a business, rather, warranties are provided when purchasing from a developer.
We are sorry once again that you were disappointed with your experience of settling into your new home.
Kind regards,
The Eazi Team
