Easybet reversed a paid win and left my account at -R1,364 — slip ***

I am lodging a formal complaint against Easybet about betting slip ID *** and the negative balance now on my account. On 1 October 2026 I placed a R50 multi, slip ***, issued at 17:45:42. It was marked resolved the same night. Easybet notified me that the bet had won and paid out. I logged in and the winnings were in my balance, about R1,546. I withdrew R1,510 the same night and left roughly R170 in the account to use later. I spent the withdrawn money because Easybet had already paid the bet and I had no reason to treat it as unpaid. The next day the account was negative by about R1,364 (the app shows R-1.36K). Live chat told me the win had been reversed because the bet did not win. The slip now shows Status: Lost and Won: R0.00. The disputed leg is Greece v Netherlands, Over 2.5 total bookings, in the UEFA Nations League on 1 October 2026. Easybet's system first recorded three bookings, paid the slip, and later treated one booking as withdrawn, so the leg was settled as lost on two bookings. Public reports of that match do not agree: some record three bookings and some record two. Easybet has acknowledged that the mistake was on their side, not mine. Their system recorded three bookings and later withdrew one. I am not asking them to pay the win again. I am asking them not to recover money from me after their own settlement error. I withdrew R1,510 only because they had already credited the win. They have accepted the error was not caused by me. It is unfair to leave me R1,364 in debt for a result their system got wrong and then corrected after I had already been paid. I have already raised this on Easybet chat. The negative balance is still there. I want Easybet to: 1. Write off the negative balance and reconcile the account from about -R1,364 to R0.00. 2. Confirm in writing that they will not recover the R1,510 withdrawn on 1 October 2026 against slip ***. 3. Provide the official booking count they rely on for Greece v Netherlands on 1 October 2026, and explain why the slip was paid and then reversed. Slip ID: *** Issued: 1 October 2026, 17:45:42 Stake: R50 Amount withdrawn after the payout: R1,510 Balance now: about -R1,364

Hi Kgathola,

Thank you for taking the time to share your concerns. We understand why this situation would be frustrating, especially as the winnings were initially credited to your account and you made a withdrawal based on the balance reflected at the time.

We have reviewed the matter and can confirm that the correction to the bet settlement stands. The R1,546.25 credited to your account was not a legitimate winning amount based on the final settlement of the bet and therefore cannot be reconciled or waived.

Please also note that, as outlined in our Terms & Conditions: In the case of an incorrect settlement of markets, we reserve the right to correct them anytime.

We understand that you relied on the balance displayed in your account when making the withdrawal, and we acknowledge that the initial settlement error was not caused by you. However, the correction is not a penalty being imposed on your account. The negative balance reflects the funds that were withdrawn before the incorrect payout could be corrected.

As the amount was credited in error and subsequently withdrawn, the outstanding balance remains payable in accordance with our Terms & Conditions. Unfortunately, we are unable to waive or write off this amount.

The account will need to be topped up to settle the outstanding balance before further bets can be placed.

We appreciate your understanding and sincerely regret the frustration caused by the initial settlement and subsequent correction.

Easybet’s official reply confirms the point of this complaint. You admit the R1,546.25 was credited by your system, that I withdrew against the balance you displayed, and that the initial settlement error was not caused by me. You then refuse to take accountability for that error and demand that I top up the account to cover it. That is not a fair correction. I did not invent the payout. Your system settled slip *** as a win, notified me, and allowed the withdrawal of R1,510. Only after I had acted on your payout did you reverse it. You cannot transfer the cost of your own settlement error onto the customer and call it a terms-and-conditions correction. I am not asking you to pay a losing bet. I am asking you to take full accountability for your system error and write the resulting negative balance off to R0.00. I will not deposit money to settle a debt created by your incorrect settlement. Please provide, on this public thread: 1. Written confirmation that the negative balance will be written off to zero. 2. The official booking count you rely on for Greece v Netherlands on 1 October 2026, and why the slip was paid before that count was final. 3. The name of the gambling board that licenses Easybet, plus the phone number and email address for player complaints. If you will not write this off, I will report the matter to your licensing board and the National Gambling Board, with this reply attached as proof that you accept the error was yours and still refuse to correct the loss it caused me. I will also warn other players, on public platforms, that a credited Easybet win can be reversed after withdrawal and the customer left with a negative balance. That is a factual warning based on what happened on slip ***, not an insult. Please take full accountability and do what is right

Hi Kgathola,

Thank you for your follow-up and for clearly outlining your concerns.

We understand your position and acknowledge that the initial settlement of the bet was incorrect and that the resulting credit was reflected in your account before the correction was made. We also understand that you relied on the balance available to you when making the withdrawal.

However, following our review, the final settlement of the bet remains valid based on the official result used by Easybet. In accordance with our Terms and Conditions, incorrectly settled markets may be corrected, including where an incorrect payout has already been credited and subsequently withdrawn.

For this reason, we are unable to write off the resulting negative balance or confirm that the withdrawn amount will not be recovered. The outstanding balance therefore remains payable, and the account will need to be funded to settle the amount before further betting activity can take place.

Regarding the booking count for Greece v Netherlands, the settlement was based on the official result received from our applicable sports data provider. The bet was initially settled before the final correction was received, which resulted in the subsequent adjustment to the settlement.

We appreciate your concerns regarding the timing of the correction and acknowledge the frustration caused by the initial incorrect settlement. However, the correction itself does not change the final outcome of the bet or the applicable account balance.

We regret the inconvenience caused and appreciate you bringing your concerns to our attention.

Easybet, your reply of 6 October 2026 does not resolve this complaint. You again admit the first settlement was incorrect, that the credit was already in my account, and that I withdrew against the balance you displayed. You still refuse to write off the negative balance created by that error. You also still have not answered the two things I asked for. You have not stated the official booking count for Greece v Netherlands on 1 October 2026. “Our sports data provider” is not a result. Please state the number of bookings, whether a booking was later withdrawn, and the provider’s name. You have not given the name, phone number, or email of the gambling board that licenses Easybet. I asked for that on this thread. Please provide it. I do not accept that I must deposit money to cover a payout your system credited and allowed me to withdraw. I will not fund the account to clear this balance. I am now referring slip ***, your admission that the error was not mine, and your refusal to write off about R1,364 to your licensing board and the National Gambling Board. Slip ***. Credited: R1,546.25. Withdrawn: R1,510. Balance demanded: about R1,364.

Hi Kgathola,

Thank you for your follow-up and for clearly outlining your concerns.

We understand your continued concerns regarding slip and the negative balance reflected on your account. We acknowledge that the bet was initially settled incorrectly and that R1,546.25 was credited to your account before the settlement was corrected. We also understand that you relied on the available balance when making your withdrawal.

However, the initial settlement was subsequently identified as incorrect after the final result was received from our applicable sports data provider. The bet was therefore corrected and settled according to the final official result used for the market.

As stated in our Terms and Conditions, Easybet reserves the right to correct incorrectly settled markets, including where an incorrect payout has already been credited to a customer's account and subsequently withdrawn. The correction is therefore not a penalty or additional charge applied to your account. The negative balance represents the amount resulting from the incorrect payout that had already been withdrawn before the settlement correction was made.

We appreciate that the initial error was not caused by you and understand your position that you relied on the balance displayed at the time. However, this does not change the final settlement of the bet or the applicable account balance. As such, we are unable to write off the negative balance or confirm that the withdrawn amount will not be recovered.

Regarding the Greece v Netherlands market, the final settlement was based on the official result received from our applicable sports data provider. The market was initially settled using the information available at the time, after which a subsequent update to the official result resulted in the settlement being corrected.

The final result used for settlement was 2 bookings. As the selection was Over 2.5 total bookings, the selection was therefore correctly settled as lost following the correction.

We understand that different publicly available sources may report different booking counts. However, for settlement purposes, Easybet relies on the official result provided through its applicable sports data provider.

Regarding your request for our licensing information, the following information is published on our official website:

• Easybet Group (Pty) Ltd is licensed and regulated by the Western Cape Gambling and Racing Board under Bookmaker Licence Number ***, issued on 1 December 2025.

• Easybet Group EC (Pty) Ltd is licensed and regulated by the Eastern Cape Gambling Board under Bookmaker Licence Number ECBM 029, issued on 1 April 2025.

The applicable licensing entity depends on the Easybet entity under which the customer's account is registered.

We regret the frustration caused by the initial incorrect settlement and understand why the subsequent correction was concerning. Nevertheless, following our review, the final settlement of slip and the resulting account balance remain valid in accordance with our Terms and Conditions.

Thank you for bringing your concerns to our attention. We hope the above clarification has addressed your concerns. Should you have any further questions or require additional assistance, please don’t hesitate to reach out to our Support Team, as we are always here to help.
