Easy Holidays

<p>Good day</p> <p> </p> <p>In December 2015 we were on the beach in Durban, which we just arrived at after a long drive from Johannesburg and we wanted to get to our family who stays at the coast when we were approached by this representative of easy holidays approached us and told us if we scratch a card we could win something, like many we have fallen for this sales technique. We scratched the card and went up to the Easy Holidays Offices in Durban where we had to sit to watch a presentation before we can claim our price, as this was one of the conditions, which we were not made aware off before scratching the card.</p> <p> </p> <p>During the presentation they basically pushed the timeshare down my throat and more than once i told them i cannot afford to pay the monthly repayments and the once off amount of over R6000. But they still managed to get the deal, in January 2016 i phoned the representative that we dealed with and asked her to cancel the membership and i was informed that if i did not cancel within the first 5 days after taking out the membership i cannot cancel and that she already got her commission for this deal.</p> <p> </p> <p>I told her that i cannot afford it and that i wont be able to pay, how do they force one to pay even if you cannot afford it?</p> <p> </p> <p>Today i phoned Easy Holidays and was informed that i can send my cancellation in writing then the debt department will review my membership and see if its possible to cancel my membership.</p> <p> </p> <p>How do one make these people understand that one cannot afford to pay for something you do not need. We only go on holiday every 2nd year if our finances allows to do so.</p> <p> </p> <p>Please advice me on what i may and may not do as this a problem as i have to go to the bank every month and reverse the debit orders from Easy Holidays.</p> <p> </p> <p>Thank you</p>
