Unprofessional Eastvaal Motorcity

Shocking and pathetic service from this dealership. I bought a pre-owned Mazda 3 from them earlier this week, the process was arduous due to poor communication and poor attention to detail from their staff, from the sales executive and the financial personnel. The salesman Sonny-Boy Phetla is arrogant, rude and unprofessional - he feels no obligation to communicate with the customer beyond the application process. He is rude on email and even on the phone.

I chased after this man for information from day two. They go on to send me an invoice with incorrect names and titles, no attention to detail at all in such a large transaction of all things!

I'm then told the vehicle will be ready for collection on Friday, Sept 17th, 2021. Not one word from the dealership the entire day, I then call them on the day only to hear that the vehicle is still sitting with the panelbeater for a paint job but should I arrive in a few hours then it'll be ready - something they didn't feel I needed to know - knowing that I was about to travel from Vereeniging to Witbank for the pickup. I didn't bother and said I'd collect it the next day Sonny -boy says he'll keep me updated all of Friday, he never did. He goes on to lie and claim that he called multiple times and never got hold of me, my cellphone network provider never notified me of any missed calls plus he made no other attempts to communicate (email, sms or even WhatsApp). He proceeds to lie even further and claim other staff members, including his manager, tried to call me too, mind you his manager says that never happened and that he informed Sonny-boy of this definite delay early on Friday morning and requested he informs me.

The dealership continues to tell me the car will only be ready for collection on Wednesday 22 Aug 2021, mind you I traveled all the way from the Vaal to Witbank to collect the car.

I'll speculate, but I sense Sonny- boy is making ***** deals with the panelbeaters and bagging some cash. They could easily check the paint colour used on the vehicle from the VIN number but from all these delays I wouldn't be surprised if the salesman is trying to work out a favourable deal with his buddies. I hope this isn't true but I wouldn't leave it unchecked.

I strongly recommended to the manager, Christian, that they reimburse me for my travels up and down to them for no joy, he arrogantly tells me he cannot do that without a receipt of petrol purchase. There has been absolutely no effort from their end to appease me as a customer for all this trouble. Christian goes on to tell me I a can cancel the deal if I want. I mean! after a week wasted on this process only to go search for another vehicle and move up and down. This is pathetic. I can only imagine what the post-sale service will be if this is what I'm facing now.

Their HR department did a survey and I highlighted the unprofessionalism of their team and even they wanted to burden me with the task of training their salesman instead of them dealing with him. Christian, the manager, also refused to be accountable for his team's conduct, which I believe speaks to Eastvaal's culture and not an individual but he arrogantly tells me he doesn't want to argue. This is what you get when you place *********** people in positions just because they have a "birth right" to be authority. The attitude at this dealership needs serious attention. They need a full-on training course on customer service and clean up their attitudes.

Pathetic!!!
