Toyota cannot / will not replace brake pads

Very disappointed with recent service experiences at two Toyota dealerships. Taking my Verso to Eastvaal Toyota in Potchefstroom, I explicitly asked for the front brake pads to be replaced when I checked the vehicle in. Upon fetching the vehicle around closing time, I was presented with a R12000 quote for repairs to the vehicle, including new brake disks and pads. No phone call during the day to explain this, and no option to replace the pads only, even though I was more that willing to take the risk should there be any. At this point the car is unsafe to drive due to the warn pads (the disks still look good enough to me), so I proceed to make a booking at Barloworld Centurion for , again, explicitly replacing the front brake pads. During the phone call they take the vehicle VIN and confirm the model and confirm the booking. Upon arrival they agree that I can wait for the technicians to replace the pads and after about an hour they approach me with the news that they don't have the correct parts.... Phoning around, they are also unable to source the parts from other dealerships nearby, but confirmed that they had contacted Eastvaal Potchefstroom, who did in fact have stock! Laugh, cry? Hard to decide...
