Very disappointed to hear from the workshop manager Dirk Putter that Ford warranty is not going to cover the engine damage caused by a fuel pump failure on my Ford Ranger 2.2 double cab that is still under warranty. Apparently the pump failure was caused by contaminated fuel that passed through the fuel filters into the fuel pump, causing the steel shavings from the damaged fuel pump to keep the injectors open and burning piston number 2. I also caught Mr Putter contaminating the fuel that I was supposed to send to WearCheck with steel shavings from the fuel filter housing.
