DO NOT DO BUSINESS with Auto Italia, Middelburg, Mpumalanga

My vehicle went in for a routine service booked with Produkta Motors in Nelspruit. During the service and checks, I was informed that a new fan belt was required, which I agreed should be fitted. This, according to invoicing, was done and paid for. Yet, three days later the so-called new fan belt broke, the car overheated, and had to be brought to a stand-still. Upon agreement between Produkta Motors and me the car was then towed to Middelburg, to East Vaal Motors (Auto Italia), since it was the nearest Suzuki Service Provider for a new fan belt. NOTE: Either a new fan belt had not be installed, or had been installed incorrectly. Auto Italia in Middelburg subsequently informed me that in addition to the fan belt, a pulley and tensioner needed replacement. This was done and I took delivery of my vehicle as repaired. The next day, whilst driving the vehicle to town, it was discovered that the cooling fan was running continuously, the temperature gauge did not respond to the running engine, the "Engine to be Serviced Warning Light"" came on, a clanking engine noise was heard, and the car lost power. The car was turned around immediately and brought home at a crawl where it would not start again. At my own insurance cost, the vehicle was towed back to Middelburg whereupon I was informed that the vehicle needed a new cylinder head and that repairs would cost R94 000-00. This is beyond my purse, even if, on my own accord, I arranged for a replacement engine at a cheaper price (I did receive a quote from a private spare part supplier for a 2.4. liter comparable engine for R42 000-00). The insured replacement value of this Suzuki Kizashi at the time was R126 000-00. Middelburg also informed that apparently faulty radiator caps caused fluid leakage from the radiator and loss of pressure which prevented the temperature gauge from providing a reading, thus resulting in extensive engine damage. Clearly no additional checking for any secondary damages as a result of what had happened to the vehicle in the first instance was done by Middelburg prior to delivery to me as repaired, following the botched service provided by Produkta Motors.. I had to as a result have the vehicle s****ped and sold to GoBid for R10-000. Never in my motoring life have I had the experience of any vehicle of mine in perfect working condition going for a normal routine service and ending up being a wreck 12 days later! P.S. Even more concerning is that Suzuki South Africa merely washed their hands and ignored these reported client service deliveries...
