Dishonorable dealership
I had visited Eastvaal Motors Witbank with the intention of purchasing a NEW ford ranger. A quote was provided, and I shopped around. Pretoria ford beat the quote by a substantial amount. Out of courtesy I notified the consultant I would not be taking the car from eastvaal. To my amaze they were willing to beat the quote. Upon receiving the quote, I noted they had actually beat the other dealership by a few thousand Rands. I further requested a trade in price for my current car for which I was requested to send supporting info of the deal I had at the other dealership, to which I did. The Eastvaal consultant was willing to match it. We agreed and the offer to purchase was drawn up. Based on the deal concluded with Eastvaal, I cancelled the other dealership deal. I arrived at Eastvaal to sign the offer to purchase. This is when the trouble started. Upon reviewing the deal I was about to sign, I found that the quote was escalated by more than R30 000 than that of the agreed deal. Note I was not informed of any of this until I was seated and ready to sign. Not even notified by the consultant until I read and queried it! All he said was that it was the best they could do and could not honor the original deal that was agreed to. I escalated the issue and was requested to come back into the dealership to resolve the issue. Upon arrival I was merely informed the deal could not be honored as it was a mistake and the consultant that made the deal was no longer working there. Adding to it, they merely said sorry and the new consultant sent me a revised deal after discussions with his management persons in copy. This still being higher than the previous deal but by just R8000. I informed them I was not happy and would escalate the matter. I was again requested to come into the dealership to resolve the matter and negotiate a midpoint on the deal made by the new consultant as they did not want an unsatisfied client. Upon arriving I was met by the manager James Houghton, who indicated that they are sorry but even the last deal the new consultant made could not be honored. I reminded him that they were in copy of the mails sent to me by the consultant to which the response was that they didn’t approve it. By this time I was infuriated. Again the explanation being that is was a mistake and that the deal with the trade in could not be honored. I made the manager aware that even on the last deal they were in copy of all the consultants’ apologies and emails to me and nothing was said until I come into the dealership. A sense of hope of resolving the deal was given On both visits to the dealership, meeting with the manager, including with them showing me the other colors of vehicles on stock that I could consider as these were immediately available as the one ordered for me was sold. Only to be taken back downstairs and saying the best they could do was a R30 000+ higher price on the deal. So no deals would be honored forgetting trying to reach a midpoint agreement with the deal with the R8000 difference. It was now R30000 more or nothing. So back to square 1. A lot of wasted time by Eastvaal ford. 3 weeks later, no deal on the vehicle, just sorry we cannot keep to the deal committed to. Now it leaves me with no deal and me trying to recover the deal at the previous dealership which was valid until end August. GREAT CLIENT GAMES BY EASTVAAL!
