taking over a cellphone number is not an offence

I keep getting calls asking for one Nomsa Hlangawane who used to work for the company l later joined and took her position. It has been 10 years since she has left the company and since then I get calls left right and centre. Can creditors first veryfy information before making these annoying calls. Today a lady called Thandeka Biega phoned me and i asked her to remove my number from their call list but she did not.
