Collections account accumulating charges after settlement amount paid

Due to my inability to pay my account on time to to financial constraints, I was handed over to Easton Berry Collections for my TFG account. I was for 2 year on a Learnership but still tried to make payments. I received a call in July and I asked for settlement amount after chatting to callcentre agent and told her that I will try settle but not sure. I received money and paid the settlement amount which turned out to be a few days after the promised date. When a call was made to me I told them I was not aware of the date and asked what can they do to assist. My matter was going to be escalated and get back to me with final decision. Today is the 16 January 2025, I am still waiting for resolution after a few calls of disputing the amount they want me to pay. Sasha - supervisor was the last person I spoke to a week ago as I wanted someone senior than her to speak to, till today I am still waiting. The funny thing is the amount has been accumulating charges/fees for all these months I have been disputing and waiting for resolution. Is this a money making scheme or operation?
