Service horribly lacking in quality or resolution to problems

On Monday 5th December 2016 I sent my 2009 Mazda 6 for its 120 000 km service, provisionally being told it would cost R2500.00 for the service, I booked it in mentioning that the car alarm goes off at random times of the day for no reason and I need it resolved.

Doing a quick search online I see it is a common fault with these cars and most reports have mentioned that looking into the alarm logs to see what area of the car triggered it has helped diagnose it. I mentioned when booking in that they must please look into the logs to help diagnose. Being an official Mazda dealer I thought my car was in good hands. The car sits there all day and only at 3pm do I get a message being told my car is being looked into. Service done I get a call from my service agent, Clinton, telling me there is an additional charge of R1000 due to all spark plugs being replaced. It would have been appreciated firstly if I was asked if that additional charge is acceptable, instead of just doing the work and billing me for it, as when I booked it in I was told R2500.00 for the service. Surely at that point when reading out the KM reading I would have been informed, upon booking, that it is the interval of spark plugs being replaced as well, but I guess your systems are not that intelligent.

Nevertheless it is in that call that I was told that they looked at the logs and no faults were detected in the logs, I was then also told that I should take my car to an auto electrician or panel beater, and hopefully they figure it out. This is alarming hearing from who I thought was the best Mazda agents that, sorry we can't figure it out, just take it elsewhere. Did your staff even look into the alarm logs? What door/sensor triggers the alarm all the time? That kind of information surely would form part of your investigation into the issue... But I am not the expert, and I was basically told to go elsewhere.

So I go down, pay the R4100 for the service and go collect my car to notice that you guys couldn't even be bothered to just neaten it up like you used to, no vacuum service, nothing wiped down. Just a "give me your R4100 and go elsewhere", what a sour taste your entire experience has given me, off I drove with me still faulty issue and dirty car because a R4100 + service doesn't warrant a little care, but hey thanks for the 3 fudge slices that certain makes up for everything else.....

I won't recommend anyone buy a ford or mazda, it is not the first time that your service center could not resolve an issue and it has certainly proven to me that your staff lack any care or s****s to work on these vehicles. Now to figure out how to fix the alarm issue.
