NOT GOOD ENOUGH AS FAR AS I AM CONCERNED
My wife’s 2015 Ford Focus was at Eastern Cape Motors (William Moffet, Port Elizabeth) to have a catalytic converter replaced.
After paying a whopping R 19 712.00, she realised, when driving the vehicle out of the workshop, that the tyre pressure warning light was on.
Does ECM not test drive the cars after repairs?
Even without a test drive, ECM must have started the car to move it after the repair.
Did ECM just not bother to check the problem with the tyre pressure because it was not on the job card?
The car was at ECM’s workshop for 6 days.
The problem was a slow leak because of a nail in the left front tyre.

28 Nov 2020, 10:40I did get a call from Andy at Eastern Cape Motors yesterday.
He left a voice mail which got me from annoyed to angry.
This is the message that Andy left: “the foreman did notice that the light had come on and he cancelled the light. Obviously one of the tyres may be going down or something like that.”
So, ECM were happy to let my wife drive out with a tyre that “may be going” flat, without checking what the problem might be. This after a R 19 712.00 repair.
Unacceptable!
He left a voice mail which got me from annoyed to angry.
This is the message that Andy left: “the foreman did notice that the light had come on and he cancelled the light. Obviously one of the tyres may be going down or something like that.”
