I am writing to formally raise my concerns regarding repeated negative experiences with East Coast Panel & Paint. Unfortunately, both interactions I have had with this branch were unacceptable and demonstrated a lack of professionalism, accountability, and customer care. On my first experience, my vehicle was approved for repair and I was contacted to collect it. Upon inspection, I found broken clips and several items that had not been repaired as agreed. The workshop manager, Waseem, apologized but offered excuses such as “the clips stretched” and “the part was damaged in transit.” If this were the case, why was the part installed on the vehicle at all? A few days later, the repaired part became loose again. When I returned, I was told the damage was due to a “second impact,” which I firmly denied. Despite this, the branch refused to assist further. On the second repair, after completion, I was informed that a cap was missing and that the vehicle had arrived in that condition. When I contested this, the branch insisted it was not their responsibility and advised me to take the matter up with my insurer. These repeated incidents reflect a disturbing pattern of poor workmanship, lack of accountability, and dismissive customer service. In my view, this branch operates below the standards expected of an accredited panel shop. I strongly recommend that insurers reconsider their partnership with East Coast Panel & Paint, as their conduct undermines customer trust and damages the reputation of the insurance network. This has been the worst panel shop experience I have encountered. Their staff lack professionalism, expertise, and basic courtesy.

I am writing this review as a severe warning to all potential customers, especially those navigating insurance claims. My experience with East Coast Panel & Paint (Umngeni) was a 5-month lesson in deception and financial sabotage, not a vehicle repair. The False Promise & "Help": I was initially lured in by a white gentleman who promised they could"help me" even if I didn't have the money for my insurance excess. He promised complete repairs within 3 weeks. This was the first of many lies. The 5-Month Ordeal: · Ghosting & False Promises: After a month, the gentleman was nowhere to be found. Our communication shifted to WhatsApp, where their update strategy was to send the same photos from different angles for FIVE MONTHS, creating the illusion of progress. Only an in-person visit revealed the truth: my car was neglected. · Financial Sabotage: They confirmed they would help with the excess but then added nearly R10,000 to the original quote without justification. I was trapped. To clear my name and get my car back, I was forced to pay an excess that Standard Bank had confirmed in writing was R4,000, but they then falsely claimed was R8,000. · Deliberate Delays & Lies: I was **** to about release dates repeatedly, just to make me go away. On the promised release day, I waited from 3 PM until 7 PM (they close at 5 PM) only to be sent home without my car, as their work was incomplete. · Shoddy Work & New Damages: After 5 months, the car was returned in a disgraceful state. The original issues were not fixed, and they had damaged my driver's key hole, left the back seats inoperable, and missing nuts on the exterior. Their promised "inspection" was another lie. The Collusion & Lack of Accountability: It is my firm belief that East Coast Panel& Paint and Standard Bank are working together in this scheme. The bank showed no concern over the 5-month delay, the inflated costs, or the *****ulent excess demand, raising serious questions about their partnership. Final Warning: This garage conducts doggy business with zero transparency.Their communication is robotic and in bad faith. They are mature individuals who will lie to your face without hesitation. Do not make the same mistake I did. If your car is here, go in person immediately to reclaim it. I am profoundly disappointed that such a business is allowed to operate, exploiting customers with impunity. Vehicle: Suzuki S-Presso Duration of "Repair":May to September (5 Months) Insurance Involved:Standard Bank

I will admit that East Coast Panel & Paint are by far the worst in the business. A group of unprofessional individuals with a very poor work ethic and absolutely poor communication. From the onset, I had communicated what I had wanted, and the lady by the name of Josephine had assured me that they would be able to get it done. However, when I followed up, she kept giving me the run around and kept telling me she was following up with her colleague, Wesley, who was going sort it out. However, when I followed up again with both of them, they kept contradicting each other. I then tried to engage management on the issue by sending a very detailed email, thinking the issue would get resolved and my e-mail was not even acknowledged. They are quick to ask and take your money promising you good service, but never give you feedback, unless you call and pester them. I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone and would advise you to stay far away from this company and save yourself a huge headache. My review is based on first hand experience with a thread of emails and WhatsApp communication to substantiate my claim.
