Poor planning from Eagleliner risk passengers safety
I am currently in an Eagle Liner bus from JHB to Ulundi. The bus was supposed to leave JHB from 07h30, but it ended up leaving around 10h00, as they used a hired bus due to booking passengers above capacity. The bus was supposed to arrive at Ulundi at 15h15. The hired bus Kalamazoo exchanged dropped us at Volkrust, leaving us to ride on the Eagleliner bus that was already waiting around 15h00. That bus failed to move on the road to Uitrecht around 16h30. Eagleliner sent petrol at 18h30. Right now at 19h30 the bus is still at Uitrecht, waiting for confirmation to fill up fuel by head office of Eagleliner. It is still not clear even now whether we will reach Ulundi safe and on this day. If we do happen to finally reach Ulundi, we will have to take metre taxis from town to villages which cost anything from R150 to R350, as the public transport (taxis/kumbis) stop operating around 19h00. We have called the customer care and asked the driver to ask for the bus to deliver passengers when we reach Ulundi or at least provide as waiting area for passengers who wont afford metre taxis at midnight, the Eagleliner customer care agents and the driver specifically told us passengers that we cease being Eagleliner's responsibility the moment we reach Ulundi. Regardless of Eagleliner's failure to provide a service as promised when buying the bus ticket being the only reason for passengers arriving late at Ulundi. We need help in getting Eagleliner to refund us passengers for these extra travelling costs. So far Eagleliner is disputing that responsibility. The bus is only leaving Uitrecht garage right now at 19h38.
