Car brakes making a terrible noise- Ford Ecosport

I have taken my ford ecosport for a service and an additional check as my brakes have been making a terrible noise. This is a problem other ecosport owners I know are also dealing with. I am told my brakes are fine but I can pay to get them replaced if I would like. This is unacceptable, having only had this car 14 months. Clearly this is a manufacturing problem with so many cars having issues. My car makes me feel unsafe and the brakes sound like they are about to stop working.
