EA Games... You are a joke

I have been struggling to log into my account on Origin for many days... It says that I have to go online to log in for the first time... I can log onto my account via a browser but not the software... I'm not a first time user... and im online... When I follow the instructions given by an EA Games agent when I contact them, my origin crashes and all the agent said was that is strange... have a nice day...

Secondly I bought The Sims 4 from a second hand shop and it says the code has already been used which i understand... I contact EA Games and they say I must get the old user to give me their details so that EA Games can verify us both before they give me a new code or I must get a new code from the shop...

None of these 2 options makes any sense... I mean really...
