Uncancellable Dream Vacation Club Membership

<p>I recently wrote to Dream Vacation Club notifying them of my intention to cancel my membership with them.</p> <p>As others have also mentioned I was informed that they are unable to cancel this membership application as I did not write a written notice within 5 (five) working days of signature, and that I am bound by the contract and its duration.</p> <p>I do not understand how organisations can be allowed to have open ended contract that does not expire and is not cancellable regardless of whether you have or are able to use their services or not. And they don't seem to care when you explain that you can no longer afford these payments and levies but instead offer you solutions that are still unaffordable for you. That to me sounds like exploitation.</p> <p>I have not used even what they claimed was a free gift to me from the date I joined and instead feel the only person to have benefited from this transaction is Dream Vacation Club as so far they have deducted over R20 000 from me and I have gained nothing from this membership. I have not even used their booking services and have not contributed to any of their overheads at all.</p> <p>So I do not understand how it can be a problem when I request to cancel this membership especially because I do not seek to be reimbursed for the contributions made thus far. They can never show me what they are loosing from this transaction as I have not even contributed to any wear and tear of their properties as I have not used any of them ever.</p> <p>This company's recruitment tactics are also quite ***** to begin with. Making us complete a competition form only to be called into a draw but when you get there, there is a presentation instead. That is false advertising. And they do not even do the draw until you have agreed to sit for their presentation and I noticed that when you do not take a package you do not even get to do the draw. Did I mention that there was never a draw in the first place as the "free gift" I got was not part of the draw but was merely a different draw. I was told that draw was going to be done at a later stage. Now tell me, what draw were we called for to begin with as that didnt happen?</p> <p>The aggressive recruitment tactics that they use should be investigated as I doubt it is in keeping with the customer's protection act.</p> <p>Why are they continously allowed to recruit under the pretence of a competition draw only to spend hours on end being convinced by their sales people to join.</p> <p>I do not want any contributions reimbursed but I just want this perpertual contract to end so that I can move on in peace.</p> <p> </p> <p>From a concerned SA Citizen</p> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p> </p>
