Absolutely shocking service

JOB 1- January 2024: Removed an object that fell in the toilet by accident. Identified a leak at the pan connector area and removed the wax-like material that was on there originally. Repaired the leak and used a putty-like material that forms concrete when dry, to cover (that method still breaks my brain). Repeat on JOB 1 June 2024 as it leaked again at the same place (pan connector area) and they repaired it again with some more putty.

JOB 2 - August 2024: Toilet shut-off valve faulty. And another leak I could not identify where it was coming from. Replaced the valve with the exact same one (brand) that was in the toilet originally, that I bought from Builders. They also fixed the toilet tap as it did not have a knop to turn the water on or off. Must have "disappeared" with previous owners/tenants over the years. They had to fit a new tap and remove the old one.

Repeat on 2, December 2024 as the toilet tap (the new one they fitted) started leaking. The plumber admitted he fitted the wrong size or type of tap and that was the reason it leaked. They then removed the wrongly fitted tap and fitted another "new" tap.

May 2025: The toilet tap started leaking once again and also the area at the pan connector with all the putty/concrete on, started leaking again.

I phoned another plumber to come and do an inspection, give advice and quote and fix both jobs that were originally done by the Drain Surgeon. These plumbers were also of the opinion the putty should never have been used as it is very difficult to remove and work on a precious job versus using the wax-like material. I also advised this to the Drain Surgeon team when they came out, but they insisted that that is the method and material they use...The new plumbers removed the putty/concrete and used the wax-like material after fixing it, like it was originally before the Drain Surgeon came to my house. The pan connector leak was (properly) fixed. The new plumbers also did some magic to the toilet tap and it stopped leaking. They checked the shut-off valve to make sure the settings are correct and in place.

For the life of me, four (4) job call outs, four (4) failed attempts, a lot of money spent and time wasted on a "well known plumber franchise" that I will NEVER recommend and use again.

It is absolutely shocking and disappointing when another plumber could have come out, identified and fixed it correctly and fixed it for good in the first place. Drain Surgeon is also waaaaaayyy overpriced. That came as another shock. I am angry and upset and frustrated after this back and forth that came to absolute nothing.

One of the worst service providers I had to deal with.
