WITZ DONALD GORDON FORCE YOU TO PAY FOR SOMETHING THAT ACCORDING TO YOUR MEDICAL AID IS NOT TO BE CHARGED, THEY TREATEN YOU WITH LEGAL ACTION THEN AFTER ADMITTING THEY MESSED UP THEY REFUSE TO REFUND

<p>I would like to warm patients who will be admitted to Witz Donald Gordon what they have to look forward to. Hubby was admitted for a PMB related condition / procedure in Feb 2016. My medical aid advertises that no deductible is due for PMB related conditions. They authorised the procedure based on the codes supp**** by the surgeon and hubby was told no amount will be due by us, this was even confirmed on admission by the hospital. After the procedure Witz Donald Gordon submitted the account to the medical aid. Suddenly a deductible of R500 is due by us. When I was advised of this I queried the hospital only to be sent back to my medical aid (Bankmed). I queried bankmed and waited for them to investigate and while waiting for a response form the medical aid I get a mail on a Friday afternoon 15 April 2016 at 13h37 advising me that if payment of R500.00 is not received by 18 April 2016 the account will be handed over to their Legal Collections Department. They basically gave me 1 business day notice to make this payment and threatening me that if this was not done I would be handed over. To add insult to injury the actuall Final Demand letter is dated the 6th April but the 15th was the first I heard from them. ********* business practice to say the least. Since it was such short notice and I wanted to avoid any further issues as I could not get hold of anyone on the Friday afternoon I was FORCED to pay this amount. Bankmed has since advised that the hospital changed the codes on the account and as a result a deductible was loaded. To date I am still waiting on a valid reason from the hospital as to why the codes were changed as not other procedures were done excet for the once that was authorised. I have for months been trying to get my money back only for the hospital to blame the medical aid and the medical aid to blame the hospital and I am stuck in the middle with a loss of R500.00This is THEFT in my opinion their is no other word for this. Just wondering how many other people this is done to. Nice way to boost your profits!</p>
