Donald Gordon Hosp not requesting authorization

My husband was admitted to the hospital on 15/6/2015 with acute pancreatitis, and was critical in ICU.<br> He was given treatment and medication without consulting the medical aid, who now refuses to pay overall an amount of R58923.96. My husband did not know what was given to him and what was done to him, as he was in a coma, and passed away 25/6/2015. I am now left trying to pick up the pieces, and cannot mourn his death as I have this huge debt hanging over me. Surely the case manager should have consulted with the medical aid, as well as myself (spouse) as to what they want to do and what the medical aid will and won't pay. It is not my fault they have messed up on the procedure every hospital should follow! I should have had the opportunity to either say yes or no, depending on what the situation was! They gave him a 20% chance of survival, so why did they give him all this treatment without discussing it with me first. Medication was given to him, without my knowledge and the medical aid refuses to pay for this. What has happened to compassion, understanding and speaking to the family first. I don't have this money and they will now hand me over for debt collecting!!!!!
