Worst car rental company ever

I really wish that I had read other users' reviews before making the mistake of booking a vehicle through Dollar Thrifty at OR Tambo Airport! This is undoubtedly the worst car rental company we've ever used, which is saying quite a lot having rented vehicles all over Europe.

Having just arrived in Johannesburg after a 12-hour flight from London, they kept us waiting for over an hour for a vehicle that had been pre-booked on 25th February. We were initially told that vehicles are "parked off-site" and would be delivered in about 10 minutes time. In addition to the delayed delivery, we had to queue for a half hour before one of the three customer service consultants eventually helped us. Despite having a long queue of customers waiting, they were having a good time engaging in a bit of banter!

The poor service didn't stop there. Following return of the vehicle we received two unsolicited credit card charges. Thrifty didn't bother contacting us or sending a bill to explain these charges.

I would urge all car rental customers to avoid this company like the plague!
