Vehicle cannot be released

I booked & paid in full for a rental car at the branch at Raddison Blu Sandton yesterday. This morning on collection at 08:15 I was told "the vehicle cannot be released to you because you have a judgement on your name". What does this have to do with anything considering I had paid in full upfront??? & if it is a problem, is it not possible to make clients aware before they book & pay???

This was a massive inconvenience as I had to catch an Uber to & from the branch. I feel Thrifty is responsible for reimbursing me these travel costs. I also had my week with the car planned. I was also unable to get clarity on a refund as head office is closed on weekends.

Not impressed...
