THRIFY CAR RENTAL _ ******* AND ******* ARTISTS

I booked a car through economy cars 21 June 2019. A deposit of R1 260.43 was immediately taken from my credit card.

I collected the car at Thrifty Port Elizabeth airport on the 29 June 2019. On the way to my residence my daughter said that there was something wrong with the seat belt in the back of the car. I thought that it just needed adjusting but when I investigated the two rear seat belts were non functioning belts. I borrowed a car for that evening and returned the car the next day.

I did a total of 48 km and was hugely inconvenienced. I was charged the remainder of the rental on 1 July and amount of R1 291.00 was deducted from my credit card. I was given an invoice that said I would get a refund of R1096.00.

To date despite contacting Thrify telepathically and e mailing numerous times I do not have a refund from Thrifty.

Economy cars state that they will not be refunding me the deposit and that I should ask Thrifty to do this.

What a joke R2500.00 out of pocket and no response from Thrifty they do not even answer e mails. Between Thrifty and Economy cars I would like to know how you justify renting a car with no seat belts. Surely this is *******.
