Thrifty Website Payment Error - But Money Still Deducted From Your Credit Card Account
I wanted to pay for the full amount of the car rental booking on-line, but after clicking the pay-button, the website stated 'An Error Occurred.' Thinking I might have entered the wrong credit card number, I went BACK and tried the '50% payment'-option. Again, it stated there was an error.
So, I phoned the customer support centre - after literally 10 minutes a Brendan picked up - he said my payment went though - which I found surprising, after the error statement on the web page.
When I arrived at Thrifty at PE International Airport, I discovered that my credit card had been deducted BOTH TIMES - Brendan never informed me about this!
And then the PE Thrifty agent wanted to reserve the extra R2000 deposit, before finalising the booking! So my credit card has been deducted twice (because of an payment error on Thrifty's website) - and instead of refunding my extra payment, Thrifty wanted the extra deposit payment first, before continuing with the booking!
All of this took an hour at the agent - no one apologised or tried to make up for the error at all.
AND THE MONEY STILL HASN'T BEEN PAID BACK. Nor has there been any reply or feedback from Thrifty, after submitting their on-line form. Even their *** e-mail address doesn't exist, believe it or not!
Worst IT system & customer care I've experienced from a booking company.
