Thrifty is thrifty at customers’ expense
I almost exclusively used Thrifty as a service provider. This will no longer be the case. I explain:
- When collecting the car, the person at the OR Tambo rental returns where you pick the car up was rude, obnoxious. - During our trip, the spare wheel came lose and fell onto the road under the car where it should be tightly secured. Fortunately I was driving slow when this happened. But, the safety aspect at a higher speed and the possible consequences are unquestionable. - When I returned the car to OR Tambo, the same rude person that was there when I collected the car was on duty. Firstly, he was not at the Thrifty Kiosk, and ended up shouting at me across the parking lot in a rude way. I told him about the tyre that came loose and dropped onto the road. He made certain there was no damage to the tyre but had zero regard for anything else. - Soon after returning the car, I realized I had left a small bag in the car. It took me more than an hour of holding on and trying to speak to an agent telephonically. I eventually got to speak to someone when I called the 24/7 emergency number who then transferred me to the ORT office. A lady at the ORT office told me the bag is gone and I should have noticed the notice on the pillars that goods left is not Thrifty’s responsibility and that the goods were in all probability ******. I asked if the theft will be investigated and she reminded me of the message on the pillars. When I said to her I understand the pillar message, but if people know there will be no investigation, they WILL ***** customers’ left goods. At this point she put the phone down. - Thrifty and it’s employees have a shocking customer experience culture. - Thrifty has disabled the review function on Facebook. In my mind, that speaks volumes.
